Linkin’s Chickens
Linki’s chickens have finally started laying eggs. She was SO excited to bring Grammy some of HER eggs.
They are Blue! Oh! My! Aren’t they just beautiful!

I took pictures of her eggs up against my Rhode Island Red eggs. (I have one hen who lays a small egg.)

It’s really fun to have grandchildren and more than delightful when they like the same things you do!

Are they just so white they’re blue or are they really blue? They’re stunning no matter what.
How lucky to not just have grandchildren, but to have them nearby so you can participate in their everyday life! Some people just know how to live

Wow,…blue eggs! I’ve never seen them before. And isn’t it always grand to know where your food comes from? I haven’t had my own hens in many long years,.. I miss that.

There’s gotta be a great analogy for the first picture. ‘alone in a crowd…. ’stop staring at me!’…. ‘why am I always different’…..uhhh ummmmmm I’ll keep thinking.

Love the blue eggs! I get the same lil’ ole brown ones you do… I wonder what makes them diffrent colors? I guess I will have to find out!

I love God’s palette of colors, in everything. The kids love getting eggs, don’t they! They always do. Sort of like a present every morning.

Ohhh! Those are lovely eggs. They look like the eggs we use to get when we had Araucanas. Linki must be so proud and happy to gift you with the beautiful eggs.

Those are some pretty eggs there, Linkin! It’s been so long since I’ve FOUND where the Adventure Chickens are laying that I’m about ready to go buy some eggs. I did see a suspicious indention in the hay stack yesterday and need to crawl up there and see what I find. Well, we know what I’ll find… stupid chickens

I had 3 hens that laid blue eggs. Aren’t they the coolest?
Michele - October 16, 2009 at 12:13 am
So cute! LOVE the blue color!! I would want to poke holes in them and blow out the egg and keep the shell in tack to have to show! And yes, I agree that it is so special that she is as excited about chickens and eggs as you are! So sweet.

It is special when you share things with children and they really will remember those lovely times when they grow up and can say that about grandma!
Lisa - October 16, 2009 at 12:06 am
I can imagine how excited she is about it. That would be so much fun.

What beautiful blue eggs. I can’t wait for my ameracaunas to start laying. I have a total of seven this week from my barreds. I just love chickens.

Congrats to your granddaughter on her hens and their eggs. You have quite a variety of colors and sizes. I like to seen chickens raised your way. The mass production of eggs is a real horror story.
Leenie - October 15, 2009 at 8:16 pm
It’s so awesome when children have fun doing what you do ! Being able to learn how to keep chickens from your grandma is what I wish for every child to be possible (and for every grandma ).
