A Fond Farewell to Fall

Two days before the storm hit and winter came upon with a bam(!) Terry and I drove down to the canyon.  Robidioux Canyon is just three miles from the farm and is one of the last “undeveloped” areas next to us.

It’s home to cattle, big horned sheep, deer and mountains lions.

Mirror-in-the-Water

There is something so primitive about it, that it calls to my soul.  Here is a portion for you to enjoy.

  2. It’s rare to see undeveloped land nowadays. I love the photos. They were beautiful and serene. It hasn’t snowed here yet but it was in the low thirties for a couple days and flurried some.

  4. gorgeous shots of your home turf… I ‘ve gotten to the point where I feel like here in Mt, we have winter year round with brief reprieves of warmth, sunshine and colorful leaves…

    easier that way methinks :)

  7. The land is so clean and untouched looking. This is what it must have looked like to the Indians or first settlers. I love your photos. Lets hope some of it remains undeveloped.

  12. Fall is indeed fading fast but we’re due for Indian Summer this weekend (until late Sunday afternoon at any rate). Looking at the majesty 3 miles from you makes me envious although I guess the Quabbin Reservoir (major water supply for Boston formed by drowning 4 towns) is just as majestic, in a man made sort of way.

  18. Loved the glimpse of your rustic surroundings. I have actually visited the Black Canyon of the Gunnisun. It was breathtaking.
