After the snow yesterday it warmed up to 39*, without the wind.
We now have mud on mud on mud.
Tomorrow we haul the last of our cows to market. So this morning was spent getting everything ready before it warms up enough for the mud to thaw.
I do think we are going to have a early spring.

I live on a farm in Colorado, the western side of Colorado, called Delta. Farming, as a way of life, is fast disappearing in western Colorado, due to farms being sold to developers/subdivisions. Therefore, I decided to share with anyone who was interested, what farm life is/was like in my lifetime. I can honestly say that I now understand what the American Indian felt like as he watched his way of life disappearing!
It smelled and sounded like spring here this morning.

I would like an early spring. Although, I hear the farmer’s almanac is calling for a horrid Feb. Let’s hope they’re wrong.
I hope you get the cows to market without getting stuck in the mud. We really haven’t had much of a winter, but the birds and some of the plants think it’s already Spring.
What do you want—MUD or SNOW???? Think I’d take the SNOW–but I’m sure that doesn’t surprise you. ha ha …. We have had so much rain and so much MUD this winter…. It doesn’t even feel like winter much.

In farming there’s always a challenge and a curve thrown at the farmer from somewhere. Hope that all went well getting the cows away and that the price was good,
Our weather in Missouri, has been so unpredictable! What we have had (so far) I would not even call winter. Less than one inch of snow where I live, but a lot of rain.
Better start those seeds, and cross our fingers that we don’t get whipped with winters tail on the way out! c
After mucking in the mud loading the cows it may make it a wee bit easier to let them go! We are all white here.
