Good-Bye January

We are finally at the end of January.  It is always the longest drawn out month.  I don’t care if I have a birthday in it… it is just not my most favorite month of the year.  I can handle February a little better (having the fewest days of any month helps), then in March we start farming!

So good-by January…on to February!

About dayphoto

I live on a farm in Colorado, the western side of Colorado, called Delta. Farming, as a way of life, is fast disappearing in western Colorado, due to farms being sold to developers/subdivisions. Therefore, I decided to share with anyone who was interested, what farm life is/was like in my lifetime. I can honestly say that I now understand what the American Indian felt like as he watched his way of life disappearing!

We had such a mild January with only a few icky days that I can not complain. It was such an awesome blessing to have a mild Dec and Jan after the last several that have been tough on all!

  3. I’m with you…. let’s move on!

Your pictures are wonderful. I saw kids in shorts on my street this afternoon, it was almost 70. I’d like to see a few snowflakes….. none in the street and not very many. Have a good rest of the week

Normally I hate January’s… but this year has been so unseasonably warm that this month has just flown by for me!

well…at least the weather has been decent down here. Made it seem to go faster. The big tree on the last post reminds me of the nest walk the Granddaughter and I went on today. We were counting all the nests we don’t see when there are leaves on the trees….fun. We cawed at the crows too (o:

  9. my Dad was a farmer in Ohio and he used to tell me that when you get the two wary months gone then you can think about spring, I think Jan. and Feb. are long wary months most years.

I can’t believe we’re to the end of January already…….last year I couldn’t wait but this year has been more like November weather here. It’s 40*F as I type this and we’ve no snow…..last year I was up to my crotch everywhere I walked and it was SO cold.

Happy Tuesday to you. I understand about being glad certain months are over; my hubby is always stressed over taxes in January so I am always glad to see it go. I hope you had a great birthday though! Have a wonderful day friend.
    Hugs, Noreen
